DRAGON MURAL

Mural on Wall in Orphanage, Mixed Media, 2024

A Mural Project for a Children’s Orphanage in Poland

In early 2024, I was invited to create a mural for a children’s orphanage in Poland — a space where kids aged 4 to 15 spend most of their time playing, dreaming, and growing up. It was a charitable project that gave me full creative freedom, yet carried a clear emotional task: to paint something uplifting, beautiful, and meaningful for children of all ages.

The Inspiration: Meeting the Children

Before starting, I spent time with the kids — listening, talking, and observing their energy and imagination. That’s how the dragon idea was born. A symbol of strength, transformation, protection, and creative fire across many cultures, the dragon felt like a perfect guardian spirit for this space.

Painting the Dragon: 50 Hours of Freestyle Art

I painted directly on the wall, improvising the composition as I went — no digital sketches, no projection. Just brushes, spray paint, and intuition. Over 50 hours of freestyle painting, the dragon came to life: vibrant, playful, a little wild — just like the kids who now play beneath it.

The Meaning of the Mural

The response from the children and caretakers was deeply moving. This mural isn’t just a painting on a wall — it’s a gift. A wish for courage, imagination, and light — for every young soul growing up in that room.
